WORLD TOP FIVE LARGEST MOUNTAINS

Sometimes we want to touch the sky but it isn't possible. There are many mountains which are so much high that if anyone reaches at the top of those mountains one thinks that he is above the sky.

World's top 5 largest mountains are listed below:
Mount Everest

1. MOUNT EVEREST:-
At present the world largest mountain is mount Everest. It is about 8,848 meters high above the sea level. It is situated in Nepal. The average temperature of Mount Everest is about -36 degree Celsius. It can drop up to -66 Degree Celsius. It possesses a lot of  difficulties to the mountaineers. It has many names like, in Nepal, it is known as Sagarmatha and in china as Chomolungma. EDMUND HILLARY (from New-Zealand) and TENZING NORGAY (from Nepal) were the first who reached the top of the Mount Everest on 29 may 1953.

The first woman who reached the Mount Everest was JUNKO TABEI. About 4000 people have reached the top of mount Everest till now. These people includes a  13 year old boy, a blind person and a 73 years old Japanese lady also. The best time to climb Mount Everest is form March to May. There are about 19 routes to climb the Mount Everest .There are many people who loose their life when they are climbing to mount Everest. About 90% of the people loose their life in the last 800 meter of climbing. This area is also called as the Dead Zone. If anybody want to climb on the Mount Everest he has to give about 11000$ to government. About 2-3 months are needed to climb the Mount Everest. It is so much difficult to reach at the top of Mount Everest that one out of 10 people dies there. The conditions at the Mount Everest are so much bad that if somebody loose their life there, then his/her dead body remains only there because of lack of resources to take it(dead body) to the base camp. If you want to climb the Mount Everest perhaps you can see the dead bodies of the mountaineers who loose in their life in attempt to reach the top of the mountain.

2. K2:

K2 or  Mount Godwin Austin

It is the second highest Mountain in the world. It is also known as Mount Godwin Austen or Chhogori.  It is about 8611 meters high above the sea level. Achille Compagnoni, Lino lacedelli were the first who climb on the K2. K2 is the national mountain of the Pakistan.
Some common information about K2 is:

LOCATION: Baltistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan.
RANGE: Karakoram.
PROMINANCE: 4,017 meter (13,179 feet.

It is believed that this mountain is much harder to climb by the mountaineers because of its very drastic weather condition. Many people loose their life when they try to reach the top of K2. This mountain is also known as The Savage Mountain.

3.KANCHENJUNGA:

It is the third highest mountain in the world and lie partially in India and Nepal. It is the highest mountain of India. It is about 8,586 meter high above the sea level. It is the second highest mountain of Himalayas. It is at a distance of 125 km from Mount Everest. It is situated at the Kangchenjunga section of Himalayas. Before 1852 it is considered to be the world largest mountain but when the technology was develop it is found that Mount Everest is slightly bigger than Kanchenjunga. It is divided into 5 parts kangbachen, south, east, west and central out of which 3 are situated in India and the other two are in Nepal. It was first climbed by the Joe Brown and George Band on 25 may 1955. There are mainly four routes to climb this mountain out of which three are in Nepal and one is in India. There are some myths about this mountain. Some people say that a snow monster or ' YETI ' lives there. Many people also say that they had seen this monster.

 4. LHOTSE SHAR:

It is fourth largest mountain of the world and is situated in China (Tibet autonomous region), Nepal (khumbu). It's height is about 8,516 meter. On 12 may 1970 , first human reached the top of the LHOTSE SHAR.He was  Seep Mayrel  to climb the mountain for the first time. It is considered to be the dead point of the mountaineers. In this mountain the death rate is very much high.It is the part of Mahalangur Himal.


5. MAKALU :

It is the fifth largest mountain of the world. It is located at the border of Nepal and China. It is about 8,481 meters above the sea level. It is located in the MAHALANGUR HIMALAYAS and is about 19 km southeast of MOUNT EVEREST. Lionel Terray and Jean Couzy were the first who climb the Makalu on 15 May 1955. The easiest route to climb MAKALU is snow/ice climb. The structure of this mountain is quite similar to as a pyramid. MAKALU is always a fear for the mountaineers because of its steep pitches and  knife edges.
